Torture
Back from the Abyss

Thanks to everyone for your comments. Alas, I am not a faithful blogger, and I take long vacations at the drop of a hat when I feel I have nothing new to say or add. There are a couple of other reasons I stopped blogging for a while, which I may talk about. I've also fallen behind keeping up with all of my favorite blogs and I hope all of you are doing well.
This is the jackass that brought me out of retirement. Watch James Hetfield get a hard-on fantasizing about human beings being tortured by his music. I've got news for you, Jim.. listening to Metallica in any situation is torture. It's a tragic shame that a bus fell on the only talent in your band 13 years ago, but that's not the fault of anybody in Iraq.
Our music represents FREEDOM, and that's why they HATE IT. Spoken with all the eloquence of George Bush Jr. Head to 4:50 on part 2 if you want to hear Hetfield's torture comments. If you prefer, you can listen to 25 minutes of this sensation-seeking psychopath by watching all three parts in order.
Lest you laugh at the notion of music as torture, realize it is serious business. Our senses are our pathways to reality, and to deprive or overload them is one of the most psychologically disruptive acts a human can experience. Sleep deprivation has powerful effects on the human psyche as well.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Guilty as charged
But damn it, it ain't right
There's someone else controlling me
Death in the air
Strapped in the electric chair
This can't be happening to me
Who made you God to say
I'll take your life from you

Body and the Beast

I apologize for blowing my top in that last post. I do that sometimes.
Here is a clip that cannot be missed. Jesse "The Body" Ventura lays the smack down on Dick Cheney. He kinda cracks me up, and it seems like the older he gets, the less he gives a damn about watching his mouth. Poor Larry King can't take all this criticism of Herr Bush.
Cheney couldn't handle waterboarding for a second. He couldn't even handle a figure-four leg lock.
Did she know?

What did San Fran Nan know about what Bill O' Reilly affectionately refers to as "a little dunking?"
2 people, 260+ waterboardings

I've got about a million stories bookmarked, so I might be blasting through some news here in the next day or two.
In case you haven't read it in a ton of other places yet, Obama came through on his promise to release CIA torture memos and they are bad. Very, very bad.
Apparently, 2 suspects were waterboarded over 260 times, among them the "9/11 mastermind," Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. In olden days, when a bunch of zealots go around torturing people until they "confess their sins," they would call it an Inquisition.
When the winds of change are blowing, some people are building shelters, and some people are building windmills.
