God and Taxes

So you may have heard that we're in the middle of an economic crisis. Our government still prioritizes charitable giving to religious institutions and protects them from taxation. Here is a piece of legislation that Senator Noble would introduce today --- All churches and religious organizations in the United States lose their tax-exempt status. Period. Their freedom to practice their belief systems and social structures will be left intact - as long as they pay for it themselves. Secondly, we will prioritize our funding to institutions who have a proven track record of responsibly and effectively using as much of that money as possible for the people who need it. If some of those turn out to be religious-based institutions, they're welcome to participate too based on their track record alone, as long as they don't discriminate. Accountability-based, not faith-based.
Did you guys catch the Pope Ratzinger in the news a few weeks ago, who is normally pictured holding his golden trinkets and decked from head to toe in gold trim in an opulent THRONE ROOM.. admonishing people for their greed and telling them that money is not the way to salvation?
The Vatican has fallen from absolute power, but it is still to this day among wealthiest institutions on the planet. It has grown wealthy beyond measure from the life savings of supporters over the centuries (who surely thought it would be used to help the poor), and the plunder and booty of numerous crusades.
If you want to labor and sacrifice in the name of the Lord, do it on your dime. Next on the list - the tax-free havens and foundations of the super-wealthy. That'd solve our financial crisis in a jiffy.
Hell's Angel: Mother Teresa
Noble — Tue, 02/03/2009 - 05:30
Rod Blagojevich may have compared himself to Mother Teresa, but chances are even with all the crooked politics-as-usual he engaged in, he doesn't hold a candle to that unholy woman.
Has the church officially made her a Saint yet? I don't recognize legislative claims of divinity. This godly woman wrote in defense of the person who dropped the last economic bunker buster bomb on our economy, Charles Keating of the S&L scandal, whom she deemed a very good man because he donated some of his stolen money to her charity. What would Jesus do? Click here to find out.
Somebody posted this way before I did.

World's wealthiest religious figure condemns hoarders

Does this mean they're giving back all of the gold, gems, blue chip stocks and torrents of cash the Vatican has swindled over the centuries?? How about that big scepter and golden mitre he is wearing in this picture? Don't count on it, this is a message for the masses who go to Mass.
Aside from all the smart-assery, I have to say that I agree with the Pope 100% on his statement, even if he is a flaming hypocrite. And the disappearance of wealth doesn't mean "nothing," someone(s) stole it. And Ratzinger is probably pals with the people who did it.
Pope criticises pursuit of wealth
The global financial crisis is proof that the pursuit of money and success is pointless, Pope Benedict XVI has told a meeting of bishops in Rome.
The head of the Roman Catholic Church said that the disappearance of money as banks collapsed showed that wealth meant "nothing".

Learn well the price of trying to live outside the system. Witness the well-documented evidence of the massacre of Branch Davidian men, women and children by the FBI under Bill Clinton and Janet Reno.
