Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, and HAMAS

A while back, there was a huge ruckus over a new children’s show on HAMAS television that used a Mickey Mouse lookalike to spread hatred of Israel, racist stereotypes about Jews, and an ideology that supports the downfall and destruction of the above. He was recently joined by a Bugs Bunny lookalike.

The fact that such blatant propaganda directed at children is reprehensible goes without saying. It is amoral, calculating, deceptive, and because of the vulnerable nature of the targets, highly successful at inculcuating the desired mind-set in the victim. Some have pointed to this as evidence of the cruel and barbaric nature of HAMAS and Muslim Palestinians. Lest we forget, the HAMAS Bugs Buuny lookalike has nothing on the violent, racist antics of the original Bugs Bunny (brought to us by Jewish producer Leon Schlesinger). From Africans with lips bigger than their faces, to our slant-eyed, buck-toothed sadistic Jap enemy in WWII, to the stone-faced, screaming Hun, American cartoon characters have spread racism and ridicule of the sub-human “other” for decades. Let’s not forget also that nowadays, cartoons ridiculing Mohammed are tres chic.

Whenever I see this stuff, I think about the fact that Muslim “charities” such as HAMAS and WAMY were in many ways birthed and protected by western intelligence agencies. One of the articles mentions that this programming is aired using electricity from Israel (much like Iraq is now powered by “American” electricity — since we took what was theirs and made it “ours”), and I wouldn’t be surprised if western money and expertise isn’t going into this operation, as I see this more of a class war (the brainwashers vs. the brainwashed, regardless of race, nationality, religion). Even Hirohito was a Knight of the Garter, after all.

How did such an extreme group as HAMAS become so popular among Palestinians? Pretty simple, really, the same way most violent extremists (including Hitler) came to power. They come onto a desperate and oppressive scene. They give food, shelter, and provisions to the victims of Israeli occupation. They rebuild what Israel destroys.

It’s almost a formula. Build a dedicated corps of loyal, desperate people with nothing to lose and nobody else to turn to. Shore up the bonds of solidarity within that group by giving them an enemy to pin their problems on. Crack down on dissent or “softness” to the “other” within the group. Eventually there is no safe haven except to stay within the group and obey their strictures. Meanwhile, the other camp is doing the exact same thing to their people.

Left Gatekeepers

It’s pretty obvious that the “mainstream media” is in bed with the right wing hawks. It’s no surprise since the big networks are owned by defense companies and war profiteers.

It’s not quite as obvious that the “alternative” and “left wing” media is owned, too. But it is. Clickable image below gives you the very broad look at this.

I used to be an Alternet junkie, but I started to get that sinking feeling I was being “altered” by some of their out-there stories and what I now consider to be reality-bending, especially on the issues of what is a real liberal, what is a real feminist, and so on. When I left, it had more or less developed into a celebrity (and political celebrity) gossip mag.

And you can’t watch a show on PBS without hearing about all the big foundations that funded this program or that.

Zbig Stares Down Russia

Staring down the Russians - by Zbigniew Brzezinski

Here’s my contribution to the world of zany conspiracy theories. Did you notice how the Russia-Georgia war broke out right as gas prices were starting to drop? Cheaper gas is not something we’ve seen in a while, and probably won’t be seeing again anytime soon.

Adam Curtis - The Trap

This is another great Adam Curtis documentary. This documentary covers how “spreading freedom and democracy” has been used as a pretext to spread war and oppression across the globe. It touches on the Rand Corporation, Game Theory, the Prisoner’s Dilemma, and how Cold War policy was shaped by these models of motivation and self interest. During and after the cold war, these techniques were let loose on the public.

It is telling that the one person most credited for developing this widely-accepted model of human behavior was a paranoid schizophrenic.

Adam Curtis - Century of the Self

“This series is about how those in power have used Freud’s theories to try and control the dangerous crowd in an age of mass democracy.” - Adam Curtis

Learn the Delphi Technique

If you’re going to fight the Beast in any kind of facilitated meeting settings, learn these tricks. They will be used on you, and that includes at your workplace, at your town hall, and on up the ladder.

It was originally created by the Rand corporation as a process to forge consensus. I think what these sites call the “Delphi Technique” has begun to expand into a whole category of deceptive practices used in meetings, but I’m sure that the original Rand Delphi Method was heavily influenced by some of these dirty tricks.

I’ve noticed part of the facilitated mass meeting process is that most discussion is done by breaking up into separate small groups. Those groups are made to forge a consensus which one spokesperson will speak. The facilitators go from group to group, profiling people, occasionally shooting down an opinion in the small group setting.

To boil down the trick to fighting back against the Delphi technique, you must not allow yourself to be incited or pigeonholed by the facilitator, you must remain calm but also focused, not letting them divert or talk their way around your questions. They will try to make you the bully, so the group will turn against you. Unless they are really good, they will eventually become the bully they tried to make you out to be, because they must defeat or divert the dissent in one way or another.

China’s Orwellian Olympics

To me, the best way to protest something is not to participate. I will not watch a second of the Olympic games. Truth be told, I wouldn’t anyway, because it doesn’t interest me in the slightest. I don’t plan to obsess over this China issue, but after yesterday’s write-up, I found a very good article on “security” in China. For the games, this includes:

  • 300,000 cameras
  • Every cab has a remote control microphone, GPS and lo-jack
  • Remote control microphones in hotels and offices
  • Ability to tap any phone, land or cellular
  • Ability to hack any laptop, cell phone, PDA and perhaps digital camera
  • A force of 600,000 “national security volunteers” (sort of like Obama called for) to snoop and report suspicious behavior
  • Dissidents and protestors rounded up and detained before the games begin

I agree that, in a way, this is an experiment to see what the public reaction will be. It could be the stage for a world-engulfing psychodrama, too, but with this kind of security, I think we will know exactly whom to blame if that does happen.

Officials call US cyclists with face masks dumb

It’s coming through a hole in the air
From those nights in Tiananmen Square
It’s coming from the feel that this ain’t exactly real
Or it’s real, but it ain’t exactly there
From the wars against disorder
From the sirens night and day
From the fires of the homeless
From the ashes of the gay
Democracy is coming to the USA

- Leonard Cohen, “Democracy”

Right or wrong, it shows to me what a focused PR effort is at work here. What is the reason to stack up expert after expert saying that wearing face masks in a polluted area should not be done? This may be the first time I’ve heard officials and authorities urge people who decide to take precautions not to take them.

Of course, what is at stake here (which I think is silly, but nonetheless) is the perceived reputation of China. China is being held up by many in the world as a model. One of the headlines below says Bush rebukes China, but the article mentions he’s going to the Olympics anyway.

An iconic moment too was the Olympic Torch’s passing through Tiananmen Square, with all that location represents. It’s also interesting to read about the history of Tiananmen Square. The location has always been a fixture of Chinese history as the entrance to the Forbidden City, but it became a (Masonic) square only after the communist revolution of 1949.

Of course, the Olympic Torch is not the most innocent symbol, either - it represents the fire of the gods (Olympians) brought down to man by Promethus (or Lucifer, take your pick). It is a solar reference, of the sun traveling the earth. There is a Vangelis song associated with the Olympics called “Chariots of Fire”, as the sun was once said to be driven through the sky on a chariot. It is the symbol of the eternal flame, a dedication to said god(s), much like the eternal flames that burn over the graves of Kennedy and others.

Al Gore…. RATS

With that very short primer on subliminals out of the way, I’m going to start using examples on the site. Now I’m no fan of Al Gore, but I know a dirty trick when I see it.

Watch for the flash of the word RATS when they mention Al Gore’s plan….
