The Noble Lie

This is satire, but hits pretty close to the mark. I love the part where they scroll through the transcript of each individual justice proclaiming “I AM THE LAW” a la Judge Dredd.

If George Carlin was one inspiration for this site, this man was the other.

I love this bit of Bill Hicks especially because it reminds me of the moment in my own life when I said, as in the clip, “Oh my GOD!!! It’s a totalitarian government which rules the world via the airwaves, partitioning information to the masses!!!” I consider it my First Awakening.

The bit about Jesus is unforgettable, too. “Get Pilate to release the fuckin’ files! Quit washing your hands and release the files! Who else was on that Grassy Golgotha that day? Oh yeah, the three Roman peasants with the $100 sandals…”

In an effort to bring a little much-needed levity to this site, here is a clip from my aforementioned inspiration, George Carlin. If you are offended by so-called “foul” language, be warned that this clip contains plenty of it.

I was very saddened to learn of George Carlin’s death. He will be missed dearly. He and Bill Hicks are truly two of the biggest inspirations for this site. George Carlin is a man who told it exactly like it is.

Here’s a clip of Carlin and Keith Olbermann. As Carlin says in this clip, “power does what it wants.” If I could sum the theme of my site up in five words, those very well may be the five.
