Adam Curtis – The Trap

This documentary covers how “spreading freedom and democracy” has been used as a pretext to spread war and oppression across the globe. It touches on the Rand Corporation, Game Theory, the Prisoner’s Dilemma, and how Cold War policy was shaped by these models of motivation and self interest. During and after the cold war, these techniques were let loose on the public.
It is telling that the one person most credited for developing this widely-accepted model of human behavior was a paranoid schizophrenic.
