Two towns ban military recruitment of minors

Noble — Thu, 11/06/2008 - 06:20

http://www.stoprecruitingkids.org/

Among all the other things that happened this election, two towns in Northern California, Arcata and Eureka, took the brave step of passing city ordinances to ban the targeting of children under 18 within city limits by military recruiters. How this will be enforced and how the federal government will respond are still up in the air. Hopefully this will be a model for other towns, especially poor communities, who are tired of seeing their children preyed upon.

It is a well-known but little talked about fact that recruiters target children who are too young to enlist, whom our society considers too young to sign contracts and make legally-binding obligations. We as a society have seen fit to protect impressionable youth from drugs, alcohol, and voting. Is it time to add recruitment campaigns to the list? Will the slack just be picked up by private "security" firms like Blackwater?

The Law

No person who is employed by or an agent of the United States government shall, within the City of Arcata, in the execution of his or her job duties, recruit, initiate contact with for the purpose of recruiting, or promote the future enlistment of any person under the age of eighteen into any branch of the United States Armed Forces.

Nothing in this Ordinance shall prevent any person from voluntarily visiting a military recruitment office or specifically initiating a request to meet with a recruiter.

Nothing in this Ordinance shall prevent individuals who are not employed by or agents of the U.S. government from encouraging people under the age of eighteen to join the military.

Peace be with you Noble Sensationalism!, that's what these ordinances are. The passing of the anti-patriot ordinance in Arcata didn't prevent Randy Mendosa from actively participating in Operations Falcon I, II, III, and now perpetual. It's how liberals ease their consciences. California voted to elect a person of color to the "white" house, but voted to ban gay people from participating in, what is a mostly symbolic consummation ritual, marriage. And it's a constitutional amendment to boot. The majority of voters are idiots who believe by putting lipstick on a cop, or is that pig?, you get a something different. Remember Vietnam? Remember Kosovo? "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. . . I get down an my knees and pray we don't ..." love eternal tad

Peace again Oh yea. Speaking of Kosovo, wasn't it George "read my lips" Bush who started that little quagmire as his farewell act as president? Clinton threw up his hands and claimed he didn't start it, and hundreds of thousands got genocided with out much of a whimper out of the Obama republicans. love eternal tad

Well, I was inspired by the idea, but yeah, I can't help but feeling it's a token gesture in the face of the fact that our military is becoming privatized, and soon to be replaced in large part by "international peacekeeping forces." Which is nice because when these guys kill, they're spreading peace, I mean, it's in their job title. I think it was John Edwards who said we need a Department of Peace. I think Oceania had one of those, too. Even the name Department of Defense is a scam -- pre-emptive strikes are not what I call defense. Frankly I liked it better when it was called the War Department... at least it was honest. Your view is pretty much vindicated by the fact that Obama is already tapping Clinton veterans. I also read yesterday in the MSM that he's getting ready to start a campaign to "tamp down" the expectations of his supporters, who believed all of the stuff he said during his campaign. Clinton has a lot of blood on his hands - Kosovo, Waco, Ruby Ridge, that medication manufacturing plant in the Sudan he bombed (we can't let those people have MEDICINE.. they don't respect WIPO and have the nerve to MAKE THEIR OWN instead of buying from the company store). And that's just his time in office. I believe half the Republican scandals about Vince Foster, etc, have some truth to them. And he was definitely complicit in CIA drug-running into Mena, AK. He is a Rhodes scholar to boot. So much of the globalist plan crystallized around the Rhodes/Milner round tables, and Rhodes scholars are picked to promote world government. So much of the suffering in Africa can be traced to Cecil Rhodes lust for her natural resources, especially gold and diamonds. Of course I personally think it's no coincidence that Rhodes is an old city in Greece, where the old version of the Statue of Liberty stood (Colossus). Sorry, started to ramble a bit.. this blog would be very wordy if I didn't check myself. The new New World Order (or the new New Deal to use their terms) is game on.

Noble Lie (not verified) — Fri, 11/07/2008 - 06:50
I should also add that if Obama surprises me, I will happily revise my opinion of him. But so far, no surprises at all. He is a Constitutional scholar -- he could start by giving us our Constitution back. When he's sitting in that executive chair, with a loyal Congress, I'll be waiting for that to start. There is a lot of racism in America and this election brought up some of the ugliest of it. But nothing can change the first law of modern politics that the guy with the most money wins. Plus, in my opinion, he is a very skilled orator. So, I can't say that even his victory surprised me at all.

Peace be with you Noble First if you want to ramble ITS YOU BLOG. Besides I didn't know about Rhodes Greece. Next look at where Obama went to school - the "Chicago School." Next look at who he is appointing. And lastly no-body gets elected without the nod of the Bilderberg. My hope is that we don't become complacent. This shit ain't gonna end itself. love eternal tad

It's a little scary because I've already seen the new frame come out many times. If you criticize Barrack Obama or his policies, there must be a racist motive behind it. Political correctness never quite took under the Clintons, and it is a dangerous public mood that limits the boundaries of acceptable discourse under the lie of being open-minded and inclusive. We have to resist this unceasingly; it's far too easy for the oppressor to take the face of the oppressed when dealing with them. That's what being a "good shepherd" is all about. We need more free speech right now, not less. Economic stimulus packages are just about meaningless to me if we don't get our rights back. That's just us being bought off, more and more cheaply each time.

I knew this was coming.... I hope the city doesn't buckle and settle... make em fight it to the bitter end. I hate to be pessimistic but ultimately I think it will end in the same federal dust bin with our Prop 215 cards, California's stricter environmental laws, etc, etc. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try. And thank you kindly for the update.
