Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, and HAMAS

Noble — Fri, 09/05/2008 - 12:53

A while back, there was a huge ruckus over a new children's show on HAMAS television that used a Mickey Mouse lookalike to spread hatred of Israel, racist stereotypes about Jews, and an ideology that supports the downfall and destruction of the above. He was recently joined by a Bugs Bunny lookalike.

  • HAMAS Mickey Mouse - teaching kids to hate and kill
  • Bugs Bunny lookalike declares "I will eat the Jews"

The fact that such blatant propaganda directed at children is reprehensible goes without saying. It is amoral, calculating, deceptive, and because of the vulnerable nature of the targets, highly successful at inculcuating the desired mind-set in the victim. Some have pointed to this as evidence of the cruel and barbaric nature of HAMAS and Muslim Palestinians. Lest we forget, the HAMAS Bugs Buuny lookalike has nothing on the violent, racist antics of the original Bugs Bunny (brought to us by Jewish producer Leon Schlesinger). From Africans with lips bigger than their faces, to our slant-eyed, buck-toothed sadistic Jap enemy in WWII, to the stone-faced, screaming Hun, American cartoon characters have spread racism and ridicule of the sub-human "other" for decades. Let's not forget also that nowadays, cartoons ridiculing Mohammed are tres chic.

Whenever I see this stuff, I think about the fact that Muslim "charities" such as HAMAS and WAMY were in many ways birthed and protected by western intelligence agencies. One of the articles mentions that this programming is aired using electricity from Israel (much like Iraq is now powered by "American" electricity -- since we took what was theirs and made it "ours"), and I wouldn't be surprised if western money and expertise isn't going into this operation, as I see this more of a class war (the brainwashers vs. the brainwashed, regardless of race, nationality, religion). Even Hirohito was a Knight of the Garter, after all.

How did such an extreme group as HAMAS become so popular among Palestinians? Pretty simple, really, the same way most violent extremists (including Hitler) came to power. They come onto a desperate and oppressive scene. They give food, shelter, and provisions to the victims of Israeli occupation. They rebuild what Israel destroys.

It's almost a formula. Build a dedicated corps of loyal, desperate people with nothing to lose and nobody else to turn to. Shore up the bonds of solidarity within that group by giving them an enemy to pin their problems on. Crack down on dissent or "softness" to the "other" within the group. Eventually there is no safe haven except to stay within the group and obey their strictures. Meanwhile, the other camp is doing the exact same thing to their people.

Peace be with you Noble That

Peace be with you Noble That was a short break. I really didn't think I would find anything new today, but I guess there is too much going down to take longer then it takes to catch your breath. I haven't watched your toons yet, but I kinda always looked up to Bugs Bunny as a child. He was my first exposure to anarchy. He never did what they told him to do, and he never ran from them either. He was always being chased by some white fucker with a gun. I believe his lawyer always got him off, because really he let Yosimite Sam and Elber Fudd hurt themselves. You know if I saw two groups of cops bearing down and about ready to shoot one another I can't honestly say I would be anymore helpful then a witness. Thinking of it now I laugh, but it would probably be pretty fucking traumatic if it happened. I guess my point about your post would be, that we shouldn't blame the content anymore, we should blame the stupid people who watch the TV and believe all they see and hear. Even if they made cartoons so mellow that Jerry Farwell wanted them assassinated, they would still be indoctrinating our children to be future Fox News believers. Its the TV! Get rid of it, don't allow yourself to watch it. Its addicting. Have you ever been in a room with a TV on and no matter how much you try to pay attention to what your doing your eyes drift to that moving picture with sound? Every wise person I know doesn't own a TV. I've never even seen myself on TV. They suck your brain and distort your reality. Wednesday's Time Standard had to front page stories about homelessness, and picture of a area, maybe 10 feet by 10 feet, in it was some unidentifiable trash and an on-its-side shopping cart. Everyone who watches TV, even those groovy Obama liberals though "yep that's the way then transients are." I thought "I know where that is lets go take a look." I am surprised you have a TV by the clarity of your blog. The recycle will take it for $10.00. It is a good investment, and in most cases the best. love eternal tad

"I guess my point about your post would be, that we shouldn’t blame the content anymore, we should blame the stupid people who watch the TV and believe all they see and hear." The thing about this is... stupid ppl have rights too (including the right to be stupid). If I get drunk and pass out in a dark alley, I may be contributing to my own victimization, but that does not make the thief who steals my wallet any less of a thief. I don't think the Radio Wardens should get a free pass, especially free passes based on the inability of their victims to be smart enough to figure out what's happening. If anything, the stupidity of their targets make them more "liable". Surely it's more offensive to stab an infant to death than an adult, simply because they cannot defend themselves. And MOST people cannot defend themselves, intellectually and emotionally, from the very thing we're talking about here. Also, sometimes I think that it's not entirely about stupidity, but vulnerability. Some things suggest that brainwashing works best on those who are intelligent enough to do the mental acrobatics required of any good doublethink process. Smarter people, smarter justifications. I agree with you about the tele. Gotta go.

Well, I own my TV; it doesn't

Noble Lie (not verified) — Fri, 09/05/2008 - 15:55
Well, I own my TV; it doesn't own me (I hope). I don't watch a whole lot of TV on it, and when I do it's more to see how the official reality is looking lately. Actually I admit one of my vices is video games; I grew up in video arcades. I just got my hands on Grand Theft Auto IV (far more violent than HAMAS Bugs or the original) which had more to do with my break than anything. It is a vice. I should clarify that I watched my share of Looney Tunes growing up and I'm certainly not about to say we should ban Bugs Bunny. Actually, most of these were banned by Warner Bros. after 1968. I'm not big on banning speech, or assuming that we have the duty or even the right to do so. The main reason I singled him out is because the HAMAS cartoon rabbit is modeled after him. I was trying to say I see no moral distinction between a cartoon rabbit smearing Jews and a cartoon rabbit smearing Japanese. One of the big themes of my blog is how language is used to create and reinforce perceptions, how somehow it's different when "we" do it. I thought I'd last longer than a day or two, also.

Polly, thanks for explaining

Polly, thanks for explaining Radio Wardens to me. I can't believe I had never heard of that. To expand on the point about TV, I also think TV induces a hypnotic effect, especially commercials. The average commercial seems to be edited to have a hard cut about every 1-2 seconds or so, which stimulates you into paying attention. I've noticed sometimes when I have conversations and I start watching something on the TV (even muted) and the real-life conversation starts drifting off into the background. The TV stays off more, now. Something about the frequency or flicker rate at which television operates can stimulate the brain into certain brainwave patterns, as well. I bet the same is true of computer monitors.

Peace be with you Noble I

Peace be with you Noble I think you are very good at exposing the "newspeak" game being played upon the masses. I also agree with the use of a minimum intelligence needed to create a patsy. What I said was "wise." I believe there is a big difference between the intelligent and the wise. I was just trying to point out that what obviously was a good propaganda tool back in the 40's, is ultra so today, so why expose yourself to it You also bring up other good concerns about "flicker rate" and "frequency." But I still believe that people who are not only unknowingly heading into fascism, but actually willingly participating in it due to their conditioned reflex. As Stephan Smith says in his song Business, "even rebel music's laced." You can email me at "theplazoid@yahoo.com." love eternal tad

Political unification in some sort of world government will be required… Even though… any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable.
