The United States Government pays out to the man at the heart of the anthrax letter controversy. The high-grade weaponized anthrax that was sent to some of the more uppity senators (Daschle, Leahy, Feingold) on the eve of their important Patriot Act votes was traced straight to the heart of the US bioweapons community.

The question remains whether this was “We’re sorry we invaded your privacy the way we callously do to all Americans,” or just a “Good job, here’s a little bonus.”
